William Vasily Nichik, 82, of Buena Boro, NJ passed away on Saturday May 1st in the Health Center at Galloway after an extended illness. Mr. Nichik was born in Poland and immigrated to the U.S. in 1948. He has lived in Buena for the past 57 yrs.
Mr. Nichik was a carpenter and had built many homes in the Vineland area working with Sam Scott & Tom Hughes. He was a member of the New Kuban Russian Orthodox Church, Buena. Bill was a talented cabinet and furniture maker who enjoyed working in his woodshop. He was an avid gardener, prior to his illness, and enjoyed maintaining their property on Wheat Rd. He found happiness in befriending the neighborhood stray cats and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 54 yrs.: Nina (Jelisenko) Nichik
1 son & daughter in law: Alex Nichik & Sherri, Phila., PA
1 daughter & son in law: Larissa (Nichik) & John Critelli, High Bridge, NJ
2 Grandchildren: Courtney & Justin Critelli
½ brother: Andrew Pilipchuk and wife Mary
His funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday in the Pancoast Funeral Home, 676 S. Main Rd., Vineland, NJ with burial to follow in the Siloam Cemetery.
Panchidea (Prayer Service) will begin at 7 PM on Tuesday evening at the Pancoast Funeral Home. For those who wish memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assocition,P.O. Box 96011, Washington D.C. 20090-6011(Alz.org).
