Elizabeth “Betty” Turner (nee DeEugenio), 89, of Newfield, NJ passed away on Thursday afternoon at home. Betty was born in Philadelphia, raised in Glassboro and had resided in Newfield for the past 62 years. She was the daughter of the late Pasqueta (DiRossi) & Gaetano DeEugenio. Betty was pre deceased by her son in law, John Glenn III, her brothers, Joseph & Anthony DeEugenio and her sister Mary Fontanella.
Betty was a homemaker and a farmer. After her children were grown, she worked at Green Giant in Vinland and Scott Paper in Landisville. Betty was a member of the Christ Community Church, Newfield. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and was a fantastic cook. Betty was known as “Mom-mom” to her grandchildren and was a constant presence in their lives. Her life was centered around her family.
She is survived by 1 daughter: Diane Elizabeth Glenn, Stroudsburg, PA
1 son: William R. Turner, Jr., Newfield
4 grandchildren: Rebecca Ann Glenn, Dr. John Glenn IV, Timothy James Glenn & Kelly Christine Turner.
1 brother: Louis DeEugenio, Glassboro, NJ
1 sister: Lillian Hurff, Barnesboro, NJ
And many nieces & nephews
Her funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Thurday May 13, 2010 in the Christ Community Church, 201 Salem Ave., Newfield, NJ where friends will be received from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Burial will be in the Manahath Cemetery, Glassboro, NJ. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Christ Community Church, 201 Salem Ave., Newfield, NJ 08344.
